Riders who favour open face helmets know that most create what is known as "Mushroom" head. The Daytona D.O.T. range of helmets eliminate this issue as they are slimmer & give a more proportionate look in relation to all head sizes.
Why Are Daytona Helmets SO Slim?
Daytona Helmets are a lot slimmer because most EU certified helmets us a one size fits all shell, and then increase the padding on the inside of the helmet as the head size decreases.
Daytona, on the other hand, manufacture their helmets in 3 different shell sizes which completely eliminates unnecessary levels of padding and also give the helmet a much more proportionate fit whilst providing the required USA D.O.T. level of protection & comfort.
How to Make Sure You Buy The Right Size Helmet...
Just because your current helmet is a large, don't naturally assume you'll need a large in this style.
It is important that you order the correct size by measuring your head as described below...

Measure around head just above the ears (1inch above your eyebrows).

Use a cloth tape to take your measurement (or use a piece of string & then measure that)
The Daytona range of helmets are the lowest profile helmets available & carry the USA D.O.T. safety standard certification.
All helmets worn on USA roads must meet the following:
They must carry the D.O.T. stamp within the helmet design at the back of the helmet which shows it meets USA Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) No. 218.

Perfect fit and comfortable helmet. Is truly low profile as described.
I use this mainly for photography. I have a classic motorcycle and I used to use my mainstream half-face helmet for photography. The only problem was the helmet made my head look like an award winning pumpkin, because of how large it was. Now, my head looks human sized and my photos come out looking period accurate. Paired with my classic goggles, these really look the part! Only thing I've found wrong was that there was a bit of wear on the back, inside the helmet. Nothing to warrant a reduction in stars, though. More than pleased with it!
